If there was any of my kids I was most worried about when he was younger it was Justin. He was a brilliant kid but had many struggles. After some very rough Jr. High and High School years, I wasn’t really sure at all how things were going to turn out for him. However, Justin decided himself to do something about it and joined the U.S. armed forces. Justin has forged a solid career in his time serving our country, with a 2 tours in Iraq.
Justin doesn’t talk about his time there, but we do know that during the incident that resulted in him receiving the Purple Heart due to an improvised explosive device’s detonation. We are grateful for his service and the sacrifice of 1000′s of other brave men and women. After discussing it with Justin, we have selected the Wounded Warrior Project to be 1 of 2 recipients of any excess funds that are raised beyond what is needed what is needed for me to complete the Everest climb and return home.
If you are donating to the climbing fund you can also flag your donation under “+Add special instructions to recipient” with either Justin Olson or Wounded Warrior Project if you would like to show support for this cause.
